Davie504 is the online name of Italian bassist Davide Biale, who built a large YouTube following from 2011 onward with slap bass covers, challenges and deadpan humour. His repeated phrase slap like now, a play on slapping the bass and liking the video, became a running gag among fans. Short clips of the line were later lifted for soundboards and meme edits, where the clip is used far beyond bass content as a tongue in cheek prompt and a recognisable cue for slap bass culture online.
About this sound
Short clip of bassist Davie504 saying slap like, from his YouTube videos. Creators use it as a funny call to action and bass meme punchline.
This is Davie504 delivering his signature slap like line in a flat, deadpan voice over a sharp bass slap. The clip lasts just a second, cutting in hard with the plucked string and his Italian accented delivery landing right on top of it. It works because it turns a normal like and subscribe request into an inside joke for bass players. Viewers instantly recognise the phrasing from his challenge videos, and the abruptness makes it feel like a command rather than a plea, which is why it lands as comedy instead of promotion in edits.
