Discord is a chat and voice platform widely used by gaming communities, and its voice channels can host shared activities such as games and watch parties. This sound is the in-app alert for the moment one of those activities starts, rather than for a new message or a user joining. It is part of Discord's family of alert sounds, alongside the Discord notification and the Discord call tone, and it has spread through stream clips, gameplay edits, and Discord memes that recreate the feeling of friends gathering online.
About this sound
The Discord activity started chime that plays when someone begins a game or session in a voice channel, often used in edits to signal a friend joining in.
This short Discord chime marks the moment an activity begins inside a voice channel, such as a game, a watch party, or a shared app session. It is a brief, bright, and friendly notification sound, light enough to catch attention without interrupting conversation. In a video, it instantly tells viewers that something new is starting and that friends are about to play together, creating a small sense of anticipation and togetherness before the action begins. The tone feels welcoming rather than urgent, like a door opening to a group already having fun.
