About this sound

The opening hook from BLACKPINK's DDU-DU DDU-DU, with the chant-like title phrase over a punchy beat. Fans use it for K-pop edits and hype moments.

This short clip captures the instantly recognisable hook from BLACKPINK's DDU-DU DDU-DU, where the title is chanted in a sharp, rhythmic pattern over a hard-hitting trap-influenced beat. The delivery is bold and percussive, with each syllable landing like a drum hit, giving the sound a confident, strutting energy. It feels made for a reveal, a walk-in or a sudden change of attitude, and its tight two-second length makes it easy to loop or drop exactly on a cut, without losing any of its impact.

Pro tip

Place the first chant syllable exactly on the reveal frame, then cut to the confident pose or outfit change on the second beat. Pair it with a zoom or flash transition, and avoid stretching it, since its punch comes from its short, sharp rhythm.

More information

DDU-DU DDU-DU is the title track from BLACKPINK's 2018 Square Up EP, released in June 2018 and performed by the South Korean group. The Korean title, 뚜두뚜두, mimics the sound of a gunshot, matching the song's bold trap-pop production. Its hook became one of the group's signature phrases, widely quoted in dance covers, reaction videos and fan edits. The short, chantable phrase also travels well outside full songs, which is why it remains a popular choice for quick hype edits and social video transitions.
