The phrase at the heart of this clip is Brazilian Portuguese for everyone shake it, and its appeal comes from how simple and repeatable it is. Shared online as a short meme sound, the full version keeps the chant looping long enough for a dance moment, a reaction, or a group gag without needing any context. Because the words are easy to chant even for listeners who do not speak Portuguese, it travels well across short-form videos, party edits and remixes. Its staying power is not a story or a character, but that communal feeling of everybody moving together.
About this sound
The catchy Portuguese chant 'é o mexe mexe, todo mundo mexe' repeated over a dance beat, used in memes and party edits when everyone starts moving together.
This short clip loops the playful Portuguese chant é o mexe mexe, todo mundo mexe, which translates roughly as everyone shake it, over a simple upbeat rhythm that is easy to dance to. The vocal is bright, repetitive and chant-like, with the same phrase bouncing back again and again until it sticks in your head. It feels light, silly and instantly participatory, like a call to get up and move rather than a song to listen to quietly. In a video it creates an immediate burst of energy, turning a normal moment into a group dance, a celebration or a joke about everyone joining in at once.
