The clip comes from Geometry Dash, where fire in the hole is one of the sound effects players can trigger in custom levels. It became famous through the lobotomy trend that spread across TikTok and YouTube in late 2023 and 2024, when creators built deliberately absurd levels filled with flashing icons, repeated voices and distorted effects. This shout was repeated more than almost any other, turning a simple explosion warning into an instantly recognisable meme cue that now appears far outside the game in reaction videos and edits.
About this sound
The distorted Fire in the Hole shout from Geometry Dash lobotomy levels, used as a meme sound effect for explosions, fails and chaotic jumpscare edits.
This is the stretched, distorted shout of fire in the hole as heard in Geometry Dash lobotomy levels, compressed into under two seconds of pure chaos. A male voice yells the warning at full volume with heavy distortion, pitch wobble and clipping that makes it sound both urgent and ridiculous. There is no build up, just an instant blast that lands like an explosion cue. Viewers instantly recognise it as a sign that something has gone wrong, which is why it works so well as a punchline for crashes, fails and over the top reactions in short edits.
