The clip is credited on a user-generated soundboard to the handle 'ga zhua', with the onomatopoeic title 嗚一～ describing the rising 'woo-yi' wail itself. No show, game or viral video has been documented as its source, which is typical of short vocal meme sounds that travel through Chinese social platforms and soundboard uploads. It survives as a tiny reaction tool: creators reach for it when they need a goofy, wordless exclamation that reads instantly across languages, similar to other one-note vocal gags shared on meme soundboards.
About this sound
A short Chinese vocalisation that swoops into a playful 'woo-yi' wail. Creators use it for goofy reactions, silly reveals and lighthearted punchlines.
This 1.8-second clip is a single human vocalisation: a voice slides upward and holds a wavering, almost cartoonish 'woo-yi' that trails off at the end. It sounds goofy and theatrical rather than musical, like someone announcing themselves with exaggerated flair or reacting to something absurd. Played over a video, it instantly signals that something silly, unexpected or over-the-top just happened, pulling the viewer into a playful mood. Its charm comes from the wobble in the delivery, which feels improvised and meme-native, making even a mundane moment read as a deliberate joke.
