The sound comes from Le Distrait, the 1970 French comedy directed by and starring Pierre Richard, alongside Bernard Blier and Maria Pacôme. Pacôme's repeated gazou gazou line became one of the film's odd little moments that French audiences kept quoting out of context. Online, the clip resurfaced as a short loop on soundboards and in meme edits, where its meaninglessness is the point. It is now used less as a film quote and more as a generic reaction for babbling, distraction or playful nonsense.
