The audio is credited to Beaucoup Askew TV under the title Fashion Trashin 94 Thank Goodness It's Thanksgiving, where the Thanksgiving themed line was lifted as a standalone reaction. Online, the stretched shouting of Gordon quickly separated from its original context and began circulating on meme soundboards as a generic fed up yell. Because Gordon also evokes celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for many listeners, creators reuse it for cooking fails and kitchen arguments even outside the source sketch, which has kept the short clip in rotation.
About this sound
A frustrated voice shouts God I hate you Gordon in this meme clip from Beaucoup Askew TV, used for angry reactions and frustrated rants online.
The clip is a drawn out angry shout of God I hate you Gordon, with the final name stretched into a long wailing gordooooooooon. The delivery is exasperated and theatrical rather than truly threatening, like someone finally snapping after one insult too many. It builds from a tight frustrated line into a loud lingering yell that hangs in the air. That over the top frustration is what makes it funny, turning a simple complaint into a dramatic outburst viewers instantly read as fed up, insulted and completely done.
