The sound comes from Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning, the 2018 indie horror parody game created by Micah McGonigal, also known as Mystman12. Gotta Sweep is the school's giant living broom and janitor, famous for bursting from his closet and sweeping anyone in his path down the corridor. As Baldi's Basics spread through YouTube playthroughs, fan games and remixes, the character's chant became a standalone meme cue for cleaning, charging and being forcibly moved, separate from a full gameplay clip.
About this sound
Gotta Sweep is the sweeping janitor's catchphrase from Baldi's Basics, shouted before he pushes players down the hall, used for cleaning and chase memes.
Gotta Sweep is the loud announcement from Gotta Sweep, the school janitor in Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning. The short voiced line is delivered in a flat, booming shout that instantly signals the broom character is about to charge through the hallway. When he makes contact he sweeps the player along with him, turning a simple cleaning gag into a sudden loss of control. The clip works because the cheerful wording contrasts with the panic of being pushed into danger, making the moment funny, tense and immediately recognisable to anyone who knows the game.
