Great Job comes from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, the Adult Swim sketch series created by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim that ran from 2007 to 2010. Its recurring praise bits and awkward public access style helped turn short compliments into reaction material online. The phrase spread through GIFs, forums and soundboards, where users paired the image and audio with minor successes and embarrassing attempts. It remains popular because the show's deliberately low energy delivery makes even genuine praise sound like gentle mockery.
About this sound
The Tim and Eric Great Job sound effect is a short sarcastic applause line from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, used for funny praise and awkward wins.
This is the deadpan Great Job moment from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, delivered as brief, flat praise that sounds sincere for half a second before the awkward timing makes it funny. The clip is just a second or two long, with a dry male voice and no music, so the compliment lands like a stamp on a scene. Viewers hear it as ironic encouragement for tiny, clumsy or completely undeserved achievements, which is why it works so well as a reaction. The humour comes from how little energy the praise contains.
