Grover is the blue, furry Muppet from Sesame Street, known for his eager, over-the-top enthusiasm and his habit of trying to help even when he makes things worse. This short shout captures that personality in a single word, which is why it travels so well outside the show as a meme sound. Creators reuse it as a quick way to say I want that, pick me, or I am here, without explaining the joke. Its short length and instantly recognisable voice keep it useful for reaction videos, edits, and short-form clips.
About this sound
Grover shouts a long, excited 'me' in this short Sesame Street sound effect, often used in memes and reaction clips when someone volunteers or wants attention.
This is a short, high-energy clip of Grover, the blue Sesame Street Muppet, shouting the word me at full volume and stretching it out into a long, eager meeeee. His voice is bright, squeaky and slightly frantic, rising in pitch as he holds the note, which makes the shout feel both proud and desperate to be picked. Played on its own, it lands as an instant punchline: the listener immediately pictures someone jumping up with their hand raised, desperate not to be overlooked. It works best as a quick reaction, because the stretched vowel carries all the comedy without needing any setup.
