Handsome Squidward comes from SpongeBob SquarePants, where a door slam transforms Squidward Tentacles into a ridiculously chiseled version of himself who later falls and ruins the look. The scream clip was cut from that fall and spread on soundboards and in edits alongside other SpongeBob staples like the spongebob sad song and the My leg gag. Its warped delivery made it reusable far beyond the episode, as a shorthand for a perfect image collapsing in one loud, embarrassing second.
About this sound
Handsome Squidward scream from SpongeBob SquarePants, the distorted yell as the handsome version falls. Used for fails, jumpscares and reaction edits.
This clip is the scream let out by Handsome Squidward, the chiseled, overly perfect version of Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants. It starts with a sudden, high pitched yell that quickly warps and drops in pitch, sounding stretched and unnatural compared to a normal cartoon scream. The contrast is what makes it funny, because such a glamorous, confident face is not supposed to make such a panicked, ugly noise. Viewers instantly read it as shock and disaster, and the distortion makes the moment feel bigger and more absurd than the fall itself.
