Hat Kid is the young, hat-wearing heroine of A Hat in Time, a colourful 3D platformer released in 2017 by Gears for Breakfast, in which she travels between worlds collecting Time Pieces to repair her spaceship. Short voice clips of hers have long circulated on gaming soundboards, where fans save favourite reactions for edits, streams and memes rather than full dialogue. This one-second wanting line survives because it is instantly readable, easy to drop over gameplay, pets, shopping and wishlist moments, and closely tied to a character many players remember fondly.
About this sound
Hat Kid's eager 'I want' voice line from A Hat in Time, delivered with childlike excitement. It works for wanting, begging and reaction clips in short videos.
This is a very short, under one second clip of Hat Kid, the young heroine of A Hat in Time, saying she wants something in a bright, eager voice. The delivery is quick and high pitched, with a rising, almost bouncing intonation that makes the desire sound immediate and a little cheeky rather than demanding. Because the line is so brief, it lands as a punchline rather than dialogue, instantly signalling that a character, or the creator, has spotted something they want. It works best when the listener already knows the game, but even without that context the tone alone reads as cute, impatient enthusiasm.
