The Hog Rider comes from Clash Royale, Supercell's real-time strategy game released in 2016, where the troop is voiced with a short, enthusiastic shout as he deploys. Online, players clipped that vocal and applied heavy gain and distortion, following the earrape trend that turned familiar game sounds into intentionally over-loud memes. Short versions spread through soundboards, Discord chats and short-form gaming videos, where the recognisable cry works even without visuals because fans immediately associate the shout with the character rushing into battle.
About this sound
The Hog Rider earrape is a boosted, distorted shout of the Clash Royale troop's name, used as a loud meme punchline in gaming edits and reaction videos.
This is the Hog Rider battle cry pushed to earrape levels, with the volume clipped and distorted until the shout turns harsh and absurdly loud. The Hog Rider is a fast ground troop from Clash Royale known for jumping over the river and charging straight for towers, and his energetic yell became instantly recognisable to players. In this version the clean game vocal is replaced by a blown-out blast that lands as a sudden joke, startling viewers for a second before the comedy of the over-the-top volume takes over.
