Athena Cykes is a defense attorney introduced in Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and returning in Spirit of Justice. Hold It is one of the series signature courtroom interjections, alongside Objection, used to challenge testimony and present evidence. Athena brings a distinct energy to the line because of her Widget and emotion reading ability. Clips of the shout spread through gaming videos, Discord soundboards and meme edits where fans recreate trial scenes, keeping the phrase popular long after the games first released on handheld and mobile platforms.
About this sound
The Hold It Athena Cykes sound effect is a courtroom objection from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, used for dramatic callouts and funny meme edits.
This is Athena Cykes shouting Hold It in the sharp, confident voice she uses in court. The line lands fast and loud, with a clear pause before the final word that makes it feel like an interruption. In Ace Attorney it signals that she has sensed a contradiction in a witness statement using her empathic hearing. Outside the game that delivery works as a comedic stop sign, freezing an argument or a bad take mid sentence and instantly turning a normal moment into a mock trial scene for the viewer.
