Hu Tao is a playable character in Genshin Impact, the open-world action role-playing game released by HoYoverse in 2020, where she runs the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor with a mischievous, lighthearted attitude. Mendokusai is a common Japanese expression meaning troublesome or a bother, and in this short clip her delivery turns that everyday word into a characterful reaction. Fans have reused the line in Genshin edits, reaction videos, and short-form memes, where a single weary word can summarise reluctance far more quickly than a longer explanation.
About this sound
Hu Tao's short mendokusai voice line from Genshin Impact, spoken in a bored, dismissive tone for moments when something feels too troublesome to bother with.
The clip captures Hu Tao, the playful funeral director from Genshin Impact, sighing out the Japanese word mendokusai in a flat, unimpressed voice. It lasts just under two seconds, with a weary, slightly teasing delivery that makes the single word feel like a complete shrug. There is no music or background noise, just her clear, youthful tone dropping in pitch as if she has already decided the task is not worth her energy. For listeners who know the character, it lands instantly as a joke about laziness, reluctance, or playful annoyance, turning a mundane chore into a small, knowing punchline.
