The meme behind this clip traces back to February 2025, when Elon Musk took the stage at CPAC wielding a chainsaw gifted by Argentine president Javier Milei as a symbol of slashing government spending. Photos and video of the over-the-top moment spread instantly across X, TikTok and meme pages, where it was remixed into derp edits portraying Musk as chaotically unhinged. Short chainsaw revs became shorthand for that energy. Creators still use it because the visual is instantly recognizable and the joke needs no explanation.
About this sound
A short, aggressive chainsaw rev linked to the viral Elon Musk meme moment. Creators drop it over wild edits, power moves and unhinged punchlines.
This is a brutally short chainsaw burst, just over a second long, built around a harsh mechanical rev and a gritty engine snarl. It starts abrupt and loud, with no buildup, like someone yanked the cord mid-scene. Paired with the Elon Musk meme, it lands as pure unhinged energy, turning a normal cut into something deranged and overpowered. Viewers read it instantly as a joke about going too far, cutting everything down, or losing control in the funniest way possible. It hits hard, then vanishes before it overstays.
