International Superstar Soccer Deluxe became a cult favourite among Brazilian football fans in the 1990s, with its fast arcade gameplay and memorable commentary moments shared long after the original consoles faded. Clips like Uh Quase survived through retro gameplay videos, football compilations and short-form edits, where the brief Portuguese exclamation instantly signals a chance that almost became a goal. Its staying power comes from that shared nostalgia and its usefulness as a quick reaction, rather than from any single viral video.
About this sound
The Uh Quase clip from International Superstar Soccer Deluxe captures a football near-miss, perfect for reacting to almost goals and close calls in edits.
Uh Quase is a one-second burst from International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, the classic football game loved in Brazil, where a quick, disappointed 'uh' lands just as a shot flies past the post or is saved at the last moment. The voice is brief, breathy and instantly recognisable to anyone who grew up with the game, carrying that mix of excitement and frustration when a goal feels certain but slips away. Because it is so short, it hits like a punchline, making a missed chance feel funnier and more dramatic without needing any explanation.
