About this sound

The viral Helicopter Helicopter song clip repeating parakofer parakofer, from the Fazlija track Helikopter, used for spinning and flying memes on TikTok.

This clip loops a cheerful male vocal chanting helicopter helicopter over a bouncy folk pop beat, followed by the rhyming parakofer parakofer line that makes it instantly catchy. The singing is repetitive, upbeat and slightly absurd, with the words tumbling out in a singalong rhythm that sticks in your head after one listen. It feels playful rather than serious, turning any ordinary spinning object, pet or person into a joke aircraft. The contrast between the dramatic delivery and the silly repetition is what makes viewers smile and replay it.

Pro tip

Place the first helicopter helicopter right as your subject starts to spin or lift off, then let parakofer parakofer land on the fastest rotation. Keep the original beat underneath, avoid voiceover over the chant, and cut before the loop repeats twice.

How people use it

Add to a cat spinning on a chair video.
Soundtrack a toy helicopter taking off indoors.
Use when someone twirls around in an office chair.
Drop under drone footage circling a house party.

More information

The sound comes from Helikopter by Bosnian singer Fazlija, built around the repeated helikopter refrain that English speaking listeners heard and typed as helicopter helicopter parakofer parakofer. It spread widely on TikTok in late 2021 as users filmed pets, toys and themselves spinning in circles to the chant. The misheard lyrics became part of the joke, repeated in captions and comments far beyond the original song. It is still used because the loop is short, recognisable from the first second, and fits any rotating movement.

FAQ

What is the Helicopter Helicopter sound?

It is a short loop from Helikopter by Fazlija, repeating helicopter helicopter and then parakofer parakofer over a bouncy beat. The catchy chant became a TikTok meme sound for spinning, flying and circling videos of people, pets and objects.

Where does parakofer parakofer come from?

Parakofer parakofer is how many listeners write the rhyming line that follows helikopter in the refrain of Fazlija's song. Typed as one word online, it became the searchable name for the sound and is often repeated in captions and comments.

How do people use this sound in videos?

Creators time the chant to something rotating, lifting off or circling the camera, such as a ceiling fan, drone, office chair or dancing pet. The joke works best when the movement starts exactly with the first helicopter and keeps spinning until the clip ends.
