The clip is labeled as the scream of Hikky, a character from Midnight Horror School, the Japanese CG anime series that aired in 2002 about a boarding school for young monsters. Short screams like this circulate on user-generated soundboards, where uploaders tag them by character and series so meme editors can find them quickly. This one spread the same way, joining anime scream clips like anime ahh in jumpscare edits and horror-themed reaction videos. Its staying power comes from the theatrical anime delivery, which reads as both frightening and funny in short form.
About this sound
A short anime scream from Midnight Horror School, a sharp one-second shriek by Hikky. Creators use it for jumpscare edits, horror memes and dramatic reactions.
This is a brief anime scream taken from Midnight Horror School, voiced as the panicked shriek of Hikky. It erupts suddenly at a high pitch, wobbles with frantic cartoonish terror for about a second and a half, then cuts off before it can resolve. The delivery is theatrical rather than realistic, which makes it land as startled comedy as much as genuine fear. Dropped into an edit, it jolts the viewer with an instant spike of alarm, then the exaggerated tone undercuts the scare and turns the moment funny, perfect for fake jumpscares and over-the-top reactions.
