With no clear credited source, this mini throat clear has circulated as a short meme sound effect on user soundboards, shared for its tiny size and instant meaning. At about one and a half seconds it fits the fast pacing of short form edits, where a full cough would slow the joke down. Users drop it in as a reaction beat, a fake polite interruption, or a nervous lead in, and its clipped neue style cut keeps it looping cleanly in repeated edits and compilations online.
About this sound
A tiny 1.6-second throat clearing sound, like a small polite ahem before speaking. Creators use it for awkward pauses, corrections and subtle comedic timing.
This is a very short, dry throat clear, just a quick mini ahem with a tight, raspy catch at the start and a clean cut off. It lasts barely over a second, so it lands like a polite interruption rather than a full cough. The effect is instantly readable: someone is about to correct themselves, ask for attention, or stall for a beat. In edits it creates a tiny awkward pause that makes the next line feel more deliberate, embarrassed, or funny without needing any dialogue or visual cue to explain it.
