There is no single film or character behind this clip, as it circulates online as a generic creepy clown laughing sound effect, often shared as a free download for creators. Its Portuguese title, Palhaço 2, suggests it was uploaded as part of a series of clown sounds for Portuguese-speaking editors and prank makers. Because clowns have long been linked with horror through haunted houses, scary movies and Halloween, the laugh works instantly without explanation, and it remains popular for short horror edits, reaction videos and seasonal prank content.
About this sound
A short creepy clown laughing sound effect with a high, unsettling cackle, ideal for horror edits, Halloween videos, haunted clips and jump scare pranks.
This is a brief, unsettling clown laugh that starts sharp and quickly turns into a high-pitched, manic cackle, the kind that instantly makes a scene feel wrong. It lasts just over three seconds, so it lands fast without overstaying its welcome, and the exaggerated, theatrical tone gives it a horror-movie edge rather than a playful circus feel. Used over a sudden reveal, a dark hallway shot or a creepy face appearing on screen, it creates instant tension and a shiver of discomfort, making viewers laugh nervously while also expecting something bad to follow.
