Online, this clip circulates as a short meme reaction sound, usually shared with the line about Shimmer attached to its title. Creators lift the exchange because the setup and comeback work without any extra context: one speaker refuses a chore, the other calls out the excuse. It fits neatly into TikTok edits, short reaction videos and meme compilations about laziness, entitlement and household tasks. Its staying power comes from that simple, repeatable structure, which lets anyone drop it over a new situation and still land the same joke.
About this sound
Princesses Don't Do Chores is a sassy voice clip, answered by 'are you sure about that, Shimmer?' and used in funny reaction edits about skipping housework.
This short voice clip delivers the line princesses don't do chores in a confident, slightly bratty tone, before a second voice cuts in with a teasing are you sure about that, Shimmer. The contrast is the whole joke: the first speaker sounds certain and a little too proud, while the reply lands like a knowing eyebrow raise. It is only a few seconds long, so the punchline hits fast and leaves room for a reaction shot, a cutaway, or a caption. Viewers tend to laugh because the excuse is both ridiculous and relatable, turning a refusal to clean up into a tiny, self-aware bit of diva energy.
