The melody is My Grandfather's Clock, a popular song written in 1876 by Henry Clay Work, later adopted as a standard music box and clock chime tune. It gained a new life in gaming culture as the music box melody associated with the Puppet in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, where keeping it wound holds the character back. Clips of the tune spread through fan videos, horror edits and soundboards, and the familiar chimes now signal creeping suspense even outside the game.
About this sound
A winding music box melody of My Grandfather's Clock, known as the Puppet's theme from Five Nights at Freddy's, used for creepy and suspense edits.
The full puppet music box is a slow, delicate music box rendition of a familiar clock melody, played on bright metallic chimes with a gentle winding rhythm. Each note rings out cleanly and fades, creating a tune that feels innocent on its own but unsettling in context. Listeners instantly associate the looping melody with waiting, danger approaching, and a character that must be kept at bay. That contrast between childlike sweetness and quiet dread is why the short loop lands so effectively as a tension cue.
