Known online by its Spanish title rana triste, meaning sad frog, this clip circulates on soundboards as shorthand for melancholy played for laughs. The full upload title describes a sad frog under the rain with meme music, and Spanish searches like ranas tristes helped spread it beyond one language. No specific film, song or creator is confirmed for this version, so its life is mainly on meme pages and short edits, where the rain-soaked frog image and sorrowful music together signal exaggerated loneliness, heartbreak and comic self-pity.
About this sound
Sad frog in the rain with melancholic meme music, an 18-second clip used for lonely, heartbroken or dramatically downcast moments in video edits and memes.
This is an 18-second melancholic music clip paired with the image of a sad frog sitting alone in the rain. Soft, slow piano-like tones create a lonely and heartbroken mood, while the rain setting makes the sadness feel cinematic and exaggerated. There is no speech, just the sorrowful melody carrying the emotion. Viewers instantly read it as dramatic loneliness, rejection or quiet disappointment, and the contrast between the small frog and the heavy mood makes the moment both genuinely sad and darkly funny in meme edits.
