About this sound

Rec Room coach shouting Game On is a short voice clip from the VR game Rec Room, used as a hype cue for starting matches, challenges and gaming edits.

Game On is a brief, energetic voice line delivered by the Coach character in Rec Room, timed at just over one and a half seconds. The delivery is loud, upbeat and commanding, more like a referee or team captain kicking off a round than casual dialogue. It cuts in cleanly with no build-up, so the energy lands instantly. Viewers hear it as a clear start signal, which is why it works as a punch-in moment in gameplay clips, instantly raising the stakes and making even a small challenge feel like the beginning of a real match.

Pro tip

Place Game On right on the cut where gameplay starts, not over the build-up, and let the line hit dry with no reverb. Pair it with a quick zoom or freeze-frame on the player, and avoid layering music underneath or the shout loses its punch.

How people use it

Drop it as a match starts in Rec Room gameplay.
Use it to hype up a challenge with friends.
Add it before a speedrun attempt or timed round.
Play it when a team finally locks in.

More information

Rec Room is a free social VR game released in 2016 by Against Gravity, built around player-created rooms, quests and sports like paintball, laser tag and dodgeball. Coach is one of its guide characters, and his short motivational lines became familiar to regular players through repeated play. Clips like Game On spread beyond the game as players exported favourite voice lines for edits and streams, and the phrase has stayed useful because the meaning is universal: a match, task or challenge is officially starting now.
