Rek'Sai debuted in League of Legends in 2014 as a Void champion, a tunnelling predator and queen of the Xer'Sai who hunts beneath the Shuriman desert. Riot gave her no human voice, instead building her audio from layered animal screeches, clicks and roars to signal burrowing, sensing prey and unburrowing to attack. Clips of that screech later spread beyond matches into montages, streams and soundboards, where League players recognised it instantly and other creators borrowed it as a generic monster scream for reveals and ambush moments.
About this sound
Rek'Sai scream sound effect from League of Legends, the Void Burrower's screech used for monster reveals, jumpscares and intense gaming edits.
This is the guttural screech of Rek'Sai, the Void Burrower from League of Legends, captured as a short burst of creature noise. It starts with a harsh, chittering inhale and erupts into a raspy, animalistic scream that feels both insect-like and predatory. There is no music or dialogue, just layered roaring, clicking and distortion that makes the champion sound huge and underground. Played on its own it works like a monster reveal, instantly adding danger and tension before a fight, a chase or an unexpected appearance in an edit.
