Sardonyx first appeared in the 2015 Steven Universe episode Cry for Help as the fusion of Garnet and Pearl, voiced by Alexia Khadime. The Cartoon Network series gave her a show host personality, complete with a microphone and this exaggerated laugh. Clips of the moment circulated on YouTube and soundboards as fans isolated the giggle from the dialogue. It stayed popular as a shorthand reaction for theatrical confidence, especially in fan edits, gaming videos and meme compilations that need a character laughing like they own the stage.
About this sound
The Sardonyx laugh from Steven Universe is her theatrical, high pitched giggle used as a reaction sound for smug, dramatic or over the top moments online.
This clip captures Sardonyx performing her signature theatrical laugh, a long rolling O ho ohohoho that rises with total confidence and showmanship. The voice is bright, posh and deliberately exaggerated, sounding like a stage performer taking a bow rather than someone telling a joke. In Steven Universe Sardonyx is flamboyant and loves an audience, and the laugh carries that personality in just a few seconds. Listeners instantly read it as smug satisfaction, playful arrogance or dramatic delight, which is why a single play can turn an ordinary scene into a punchline.
