Kingdom Hearts is a Disney and Square Enix action role-playing series that began in 2002, blending Disney worlds with original characters such as Sora. Its menu sounds, including this short select chime, became familiar to players through long hours spent navigating items, abilities and save screens. As gameplay clips and nostalgic edits spread on video platforms, the sound was lifted from its menu context and reused as a shorthand for making a choice. It remains popular because it is instantly recognisable, clean and brief enough to fit almost any short edit.
About this sound
The menu select chime from Kingdom Hearts, a short confirmation blip heard when picking an option. Gamers and editors use it for menu clips and reactions.
The Kingdom Hearts select sound is a brief, bright menu chime that plays the instant a player confirms a choice, lasting just over a second. It has a clean, synthesized tone with a quick rise and a soft, satisfying resolution, more like a gentle electronic ping than a harsh beep. Because it is so familiar to players of the series, it instantly signals that something has been chosen, unlocked or confirmed, and it carries a warm sense of nostalgia for the game's menus, worlds and music. In short clips it feels polished and playful, adding a small moment of reward without distracting from the action on screen.
