The spinning cat became a TikTok staple in 2023, typically a cat rotating to the bouncy 'OIIA' track, and editors soon began swapping the cat for anything that could plausibly rotate. This upload is one of those fan-made variants: the file's own metadata describes it as the sandwich clip 'in FHD with better sound quality', a deadpan voiceover laid over the familiar melody. Variants like this circulate through TikTok, YouTube Shorts and soundboards, where the format survives because the template is so easy to re-skin with new objects.
About this sound
The viral spinning-cat TikTok audio paired with a deadpan voiceover declaring 'this is a sandwich'. Used for spin transitions, food reveals and absurd meme edits.
This roughly eight-second clip stitches together two internet staples: the cheerful, instantly recognisable melody behind the spinning-cat meme and a flat, deadpan voiceover insisting 'this is a sandwich'. The contrast is the joke — the music is playful and twitchy while the narration treats an ordinary sandwich with total seriousness. Played at full volume, the abrupt voiceover lands like a punchline, which is why it works so well as a reaction or cutaway in fast-paced edits. It feels silly, warm and deliberately low-effort, the exact kind of sound that turns a simple food shot into a punchline.
