About this sound

A short Suzuya voice clip saying ugh, gross in a disgusted tone, used by anime fans for cringe, awkward and gross-out moments in memes and reaction edits.

This is a brief, sharp vocal reaction from Suzuya, delivered in a high, almost childlike tone that flips quickly from surprise to disgust. The 'ugh' lands as a drawn-out groan before 'gross' snaps shut, making the whole clip feel exaggerated, squeamish and a little unhinged. Because it is so short and so expressive, it works as an instant punchline: the listener does not need context to understand that something revolting, embarrassing or deeply unwelcome has just happened. It adds a jolt of anime-style overreaction that makes a joke land harder.

Pro tip

Drop it right on the reveal of something gross, like a bad food combo or a cursed image, and cut the music so the disgusted delivery stands out. Do not loop it over dialogue, because its charm is the single, sudden squeamish hit.

How people use it

Reacting to a disgusting food combination in a video.
Captioning a cursed image in a meme edit.
Mocking an awkward crush confession in an anime edit.
Punctuating a gross-out prank reveal for friends.
