My Band was released in 2004 as the lead single from D12 World, the second album by Detroit group D12. Written as a satire of Eminem being treated as the frontman, it became the group's biggest hit and reached the top ten in many countries. The hook and title have stayed in circulation through radio play, music video reposts and short form edits, where the short excerpt now works as a shorthand for mock fame and group intros.
Bu Ses Hakkında
Short clip from My Band by D12 and Eminem, the sarcastic 2004 hit about fame. Creators use it for band intros, ego jokes, music and meme edits.
This is a short excerpt from My Band, the D12 single fronted by Eminem that parodies boy band fame and lead singer ego. The clip has that instantly recognisable early 2000s hip hop bounce, confident delivery and tongue in cheek attitude that made the original track a chart hit. Played on its own it works as a brag, a punchline or an ironic introduction, signalling that someone thinks they are the star of the group even when everyone else is rolling their eyes at the performance.
