Bird Up comes from The Eric Andre Show, the surreal Adult Swim talk show hosted by Eric Andre, where the host frequently breaks the format with loud, random outbursts. The shout was clipped and shared online as a meme sound, spreading through YouTube edits, TikTok videos and soundboards where creators use it as a punchline for anything bird-related. Its appeal comes from the show's chaotic energy and Andre's deadpan commitment to the joke, and it remains popular because the two-word phrase is instantly recognisable, easy to place in an edit and funny even without knowing the original sketch.

Eric Andre shouts 'Bird Up' in this short clip from his Adult Swim talk show, a loud meme sound used for sudden bird jokes, absurd reveals and funny moments.
This is the short, loud shout of Bird Up from The Eric Andre Show, delivered by Eric Andre in his trademark over-the-top style. The voice is sudden, high-energy and slightly unhinged, cutting through the scene with a burst of chaotic enthusiasm that feels both random and strangely confident. There is no build-up or explanation, just the phrase itself, shouted as if it were the most important announcement in the world. That abruptness is what makes it funny, turning an ordinary mention of a bird into a moment of pure absurdity that catches viewers off guard and makes a simple edit feel instantly louder, sillier and more memorable.
