Daleks were introduced in Doctor Who in 1963 and became the show's most famous villains, known for their grating electronic voices and catchphrase exterminate. This tea offering plays on the Daleks' very British origins, swapping world domination for a cup of tea, a national ritual. Clips twisting the Daleks into polite or domestic situations have long circulated among fans online, and this short version spread as a soundboard staple because it works without any visual context.

A Dalek from Doctor Who politely asking if you want tea in its robotic voice, used as a funny British sci-fi meme for tea breaks and reactions.
This short clip captures a Dalek, the iconic metal villain from Doctor Who, breaking character to ask if anyone wants tea. Instead of the usual harsh exterminate shout, the voice is clipped, robotic and oddly polite, turning a terrifying alien into a deadpan waiter. The contrast between the Dalek's menacing electronic tone and such an ordinary British offer is what makes it land. It feels abrupt, silly and instantly quotable, perfect for puncturing a tense moment with unexpected hospitality alone.
