Hu Tao is a playable Pyro character in Genshin Impact, released by HoYoverse in 2021, voiced in Japanese by Rie Takahashi. Her hilichurl line became a viral copypasta and remix source after players clipped the voice line and shared it across TikTok, YouTube and Discord. The phrase plays on the words onii san, meaning older brother, and its repetitive rhythm made it easy to loop, speed up and pair with other cute anime voice memes. It remains a staple sound for Genshin fans years after its debut.

Hu Tao's playful Hilichurl chant from Genshin Impact, where she sings about a sick hilichurl brother in a cute, rhythmic voice line fans use for anime edits.
This clip captures Hu Tao, the mischievous director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor in Genshin Impact, delivering her famous hilichurl chant in a bright, sing-song tone. She rapidly repeats the line about a hilichurl's older brother falling ill, turning a simple tongue twister into a bouncy, almost musical performance. Her cheerful delivery contrasts with the morbid subject, which is exactly why it sticks in the mind. The rhythm, cute pronunciation and sudden energy make the moment instantly recognizable, even out of context, and give edits a playful, chaotic lift whenever it appears.
