Mitsudomoe is a Japanese comedy manga and anime about the Marui triplets, with Mitsuba as the eldest sister, and this clip comes from one of her eating moments in the series. Like many short anime audio clips, it has been saved and shared on soundboards because the sound works on its own, without needing the scene around it. Fans reuse it for eating jokes, greedy-character edits and reaction videos, and its appeal has lasted because the exaggerated chewing is immediately recognisable as anime comedy rather than a realistic eating sound.

Mitsuba Marui's eating sounds from the anime Mitsudomoe, with rapid munching and chewing noises that creators use for funny food scenes and reaction edits.
This short clip captures Mitsuba Marui greedily eating in Mitsudomoe, with fast, wet munching, chewing and gulping sounds that run for about nine seconds without any dialogue getting in the way. The rhythm is messy and exaggerated, like someone stuffing food in as quickly as possible, which makes it instantly funny even if you have never seen the show. Played over a video, it turns an ordinary bite into a joke about hunger, greed or losing control around food, and the gross, cartoonish detail is what makes viewers laugh, cringe and replay it.
