The Ohio fart belongs to two overlapping meme trends: Ohio jokes, where the state is treated as a place where strange and cursed things happen, and short fart edits posted on soundboards and in video remixes. Unlike the longer fart with reverb, this version is dry and quick, which helped it spread as a reusable punchline rather than a standalone sketch. Its exact creator is not documented, but the clip survives because creators keep pairing the familiar Ohio setup with the most childish sound possible.

Ohio fart is a short, silly meme sound effect used in goofy edits, cursed state jokes and absurd reaction videos for a quick gross-out punchline.
This clip is a brief, blunt fart noise stretched into a meme moment by the Ohio label, which signals something cursed, weird and a little off in internet slang. The sound itself is wet, low and unmistakably rude, landing in about three seconds with no build-up or music behind it. That directness is the joke. Viewers hear an ordinary bodily sound treated like a dramatic reveal, and the contrast makes a normal scene feel instantly stupider and funnier. It works best as a sudden interruption that undercuts whatever serious thing was happening just before.
