DiC Entertainment took over the G.I. Joe animated series in 1990, producing new episodes with a noticeably stiffer voice-acting style than the earlier Sunbow run, and Duke's deadpan delivery became a small legend among cartoon fans. Short clips of his dialogue circulate online as reaction memes, where his exasperated “What's wrong with you?” punctuates moments of comic disbelief. The line works because it sounds like a 90s cartoon authority figure genuinely baffled by what he is seeing, a tone that sits next to other shocked exclamations like oh my god, wow in gaming fails and meme edits.

Duke from the DiC G.I. Joe cartoon asks “What’s wrong with you?” in this reaction clip. Creators drop it over dumb fails, bad takes and questionable decisions.
Duke's incredulous voice cuts straight through in this 1.6-second clip from the DiC-era G.I. Joe cartoon, delivering the line “What's wrong with you?” with the stiff, over-enunciated charm of early-90s Saturday morning animation. The delivery is pure exasperated disbelief: a sharp rise on “wrong,” a clipped landing on “you,” like a commander watching his troops do something spectacularly stupid. It lands as instant comic judgment, the audio equivalent of a facepalm, which is why meme editors reach for it whenever a video needs one perfect moment of someone being called out.
