The clip is listed with tags for The Big Bang Theory and Hawking, and its French title translates literally as chair startup, which points to the motorised wheelchair most viewers associate with Stephen Hawking. That association is the reason it circulates online: the sound is short, instantly recognisable, and easy to drop into edits without explanation. Shared on soundboards and in meme edits, it has become shorthand for a slow, important arrival, keeping it useful long after the original television moments faded from everyday conversation.
关于此声音
The wheelchair startup sound associated with Stephen Hawking in The Big Bang Theory, used for comic entrances and dramatic arrivals in edits and memes.
This short clip captures the low whirring and mechanical click of a motorised wheelchair powering up, building briefly before it settles into a steady electric hum. It is instantly recognisable as the sound of Stephen Hawking arriving, slow, deliberate and impossible to ignore, which is why it lands so well as a punchline. Played over a character walking into a room, a reveal, or an awkward entrance, it turns an ordinary moment into something grand and slightly absurd, giving the viewer a beat to anticipate what, or who, is about to appear.
