Hypnotoad first appeared in Futurama, the animated series created by Matt Groening, in the 2001 episode The Day the Earth Stood Stupid. The character does almost nothing except stare and drone, yet entire crowds and even other characters fall under its spell, and a show within the show called Everybody Loves Hypnotoad became a running gag. Clips and images spread online in the 2000s with the caption All Glory to the Hypnotoad, turning its droning croak into a shorthand for blind obedience and joke hypnosis.

The Hypnotoad sound from Futurama, a deep pulsing drone and croak from the mind controlling toad used for hypnosis jokes and trance memes online.
This is the droning sound of Hypnotoad, the wide eyed toad from Futurama whose gaze puts anyone who looks at it into a trance. The clip is a low, pulsing hum layered with a rhythmic croaking rumble that feels steady and strangely heavy for its length. It does not build or change much, which is part of the joke, as the longer it plays the more it sounds like it is taking over the scene. Viewers instantly read it as mind control, blank stares and total obedience played for comedy.
