The rimshot sting comes from live variety and vaudeville drumming, where drummers underlined jokes for the audience, and it became a staple of Thai stage comedy as the klong tap muk. Thai TV comedians and cafe comedy troupes kept the cue alive for decades, with the drummer sitting beside the act and hitting the sting on cue. Short clips of the sound later spread on TikTok and Thai social media as a ready made punchline marker, which is why this second version is shared for edits, memes and reaction videos.

A short Thai joke drum rimshot, the classic ba-dum tss sting used to punctuate a punchline, awkward joke or comedic fail in TikTok videos and edits.
This is a fast percussive rimshot sting, a snare hit and crash that lands like ba-dum tss right after a line. In Thai comedy it is known as the joke drum, played live to mark the exact moment a punchline should get a laugh. The two beats feel tight and slightly exaggerated, then the cymbal rings out and cuts short. That timing makes even a flat or awkward joke funnier, because the sound itself tells the audience the joke is over and invites a groan, a pause, or a laugh in response.
