No clear original film, show or creator is documented for this clip, so its history is mainly an online one. Short spoken reactions like this spread through soundboards, meme pages and short video edits because they are easy to recognise and reuse out of context. The phrase works as a standalone comment, which helped it move between platforms without needing setup or explanation. It remains popular as a low key alternative to laugh sounds, used when creators want the audience to feel the awkwardness rather than be told something was hilarious.

That's Comedy is a short spoken sound clip used as a sarcastic reaction to jokes, fails and awkward moments in memes, edits and group chats.
The clip is a flat, deadpan delivery of the phrase that's comedy, spoken as if commenting on something that is barely funny at all. The timing and dry tone do most of the work, landing less like praise and more like a polite dismissal. It works because the line sounds calm on the surface while clearly signalling the opposite underneath, which makes it perfect for undercutting a weak punchline or an overconfident moment. Viewers instantly read it as sarcasm, and that shared understanding turns an ordinary fail into the actual joke.
