'Merry-Go-Round Broke Down', written by Cliff Friend and Dave Franklin in 1937, has been the Looney Tunes theme song for generations, and this clip comes from the official Looney Tunes soundtrack released by WaterTower Music. The recording took on a second life on a Don Pollo meme soundboard, where the 'ahh' meme edits pair the cartoon fanfare with chaotic short-form videos. Because the melody is instantly recognisable, editors on TikTok use it as shorthand for incoming slapstick, keeping a ninety-year-old tune at the centre of modern meme culture.

The Don Pollo ahh meme sound is the classic Looney Tunes theme 'Merry-Go-Round Broke Down'. Creators drop it into chaotic TikTok edits and cartoon punchlines.
This 18-second clip is the bouncy Looney Tunes theme song, 'Merry-Go-Round Broke Down', as it appears on a Don Pollo meme soundboard. The tune bursts in with bright brass, a racing piano line and that unmistakable cartoon bounce, instantly signalling that something ridiculous is about to happen. Paired with the Don Pollo 'ahh' meme, it turns ordinary footage into a slapstick bit, making viewers expect a punchline before anything is even said. It works because the melody is pure nostalgia: one bar is enough to make the audience grin.
