Lethal Company is a co-op horror game released in early access in 2023 by solo developer Zeekerss, where crews collect scrap inside abandoned facilities filled with monsters. The Nutcracker was added in a later update as a facility enemy inspired by the classic toy soldier and by Tchaikovsky's March from The Nutcracker. Its music became a recognizable danger cue in streams and clips, because hearing the march meant the patrol was close and players needed to hide, crouch, or run before being spotted.
