Through the Fire and Flames was released by British power metal band DragonForce on their 2006 album Inhuman Rampage. The song gained a much wider audience after being featured as one of the hardest tracks in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in 2007. Its opening section became instantly recognisable to players who spent hours trying to survive the full seven minute version. Online, the intro is now used as shorthand for extreme difficulty, fast fingers and epic gaming moments, long after the original rhythm game boom.

The opening riff from DragonForce's Through the Fire and Flames, a fast power metal intro used for epic entrances, gaming montages and intense moments.
This is the explosive opening of Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce, built from twin lead guitars racing over rapid drums and keyboards. The intro launches straight into a high speed melodic riff with no build up, giving it a feeling of instant momentum and heroic urgency. It sounds bright, technical and relentless, like the start of a final boss battle. Listeners often associate it with extreme skill and endurance because the full song became famous for its difficulty. Used on its own, the intro works as an immediate signal of intensity, speed and over the top action.
