The sound comes from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the 1990s cartoon starring Dr Robotnik, where his line Snooping as usual, I see was widely misheard as Pingas. Internet editors clipped that mishearing and turned it into a running gag in YouTube Poop videos and Sonic fan edits, where Robotnik appears to say the word in unrelated situations. Its brevity and instantly recognisable delivery kept it circulating long after the original episodes, and it remains a shorthand joke for being caught snooping.

The Pingas sound effect is Dr Robotnik's misheard line from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, used as a quick joke reaction in memes and edits.
This extremely short clip captures Dr Robotnik delivering the single word Pingas in a deep, theatrical cartoon voice, with a sharp, almost snorting emphasis that makes it instantly recognisable even out of context. Originally a misheard line from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, it sounds less like a normal word and more like a punchline dropped into silence. Played on its own, it lands as a sudden, silly interruption that catches listeners off guard, turning a serious moment into a joke and prompting an immediate laugh from anyone who knows the meme.
