The clip circulated among Playboi Carti fans in 2024, when short excerpts from his songs and previews were widely reposted as edit audio on TikTok and YouTube. Fans searched for it using the full phrase put em on the news or sum, taken directly from the lyric as heard. Its short length and instantly recognisable delivery helped it move from fan pages onto general soundboards, where it is now used less as music and more as a punchy reaction line for dramatic moments.

Short Playboi Carti clip of the line put em on the news or sum from his 2024 era, used as a bold flex sound in rap edits and meme videos online.
This is a short vocal clip built around Playboi Carti delivering the line put em on the news or sum in his familiar high pitched mumbled flow. The phrase lands like a threat and a boast at the same time, suggesting someone has been dealt with so publicly they will end up being reported. Over a dark trap beat the delivery feels cold confident and slightly menacing, which is why editors drop it right before a reveal a knockout moment or a smug caption makes the joke hit harder.
