The clip comes from Boogytoons, a cartoon channel known for short comedy skits, and appears in its Basketball Court short released in May 2022. In the scene, Cappy Cookies is playing basketball and accidentally crashes into Sonic, triggering Sonic's high-pitched Sonic X scream that viewers compare to Stewie Griffin. Fans clipped the scream because the delivery was so exaggerated and meme-ready. It now circulates as a standalone reaction sound for sports fails, collisions and panic edits across meme soundboards.

Sonic's shrill cartoon scream from the Boogytoons basketball short, sounding like Stewie Griffin. Used for hard hits, fails and sudden panic in edits.
This is the short, piercing scream Sonic lets out in the Boogytoons basketball short, ripped from his Sonic X voice performance. It lasts just over a second, starting sharp and climbing into a wobbly, almost Stewie Griffin-like wail that sounds more startled than hurt. The tone is pure cartoon panic, exaggerated and squeaky rather than realistic. Dropped over an edit, it instantly sells a painful collision, a surprise scare, or a character realizing something has gone wrong, making the viewer laugh at the over-the-top distress.
