Among Us was released by Innersloth in 2018 and exploded in popularity during 2020, turning its crewmates and the word sus, short for suspicious, into a lasting meme language. Fans began remixing the characters into fan animations, Minecraft crossovers, and short horror parodies, where a quiet setup would end with a sudden scream and distorted face. This jump scare version spread through soundboards and short videos as a reusable prank sting. It remains popular because the reference is instantly recognisable, even when the clip is used outside gaming content.
O tym dźwięku
The Among Us sus jump scare is a loud, distorted scream sting from the viral game meme, used to fake a scary reveal or shock a friend in edits.
This is a short, sharp jump scare built around the Among Us sus meme, combining a sudden loud scream and a harsh distorted sting that hits without warning. It lasts just a couple of seconds, starting almost silent before the noise erupts at full volume, which is what makes it work as a prank. The sound feels frantic and absurd rather than truly horrifying, because the familiar crewmate reference undercuts the scare. Viewers usually flinch, then laugh once they realise it was a fake reveal in an edit or gaming clip.
