Animal screams have long been a staple of comedy and reaction content because a sudden, wild cry needs no explanation to read as panic or surprise. As short soundboards and short-form video grew, this kind of brief, reusable clip became easy to drop into edits, streams and chats whenever a moment needed an instant, exaggerated reaction. It survives because it is versatile: the same noise can sell a prank, a fail, a jump scare or a playful overreaction without dialogue. Its short length also makes it easy to replay, share and reuse across formats.
